It may seem obvious, but the twigs I encounter every day are all different. There are many different tree species, and even twigs of the same species will have different tendencies depending on where I encounter them. Branches that trees shed at their own rhythm all have parts broken off. Some twigs are imperfect but have good branches, and some have beautiful bark. The broken parts can have a strength, as if they have been weathered by the wind. Just as the sounds of summer rain and winter rain are different, and the sunlight varies each morning depending on the season and the clouds at the time, I discover and collect little by little different beauty from our scenery.

あたり前のことなのですが、日々出会う小枝は全て異なります。樹種も様々なのですが、同じ樹種の小枝でも出会う場所によって傾向が違います。木が自分のリズムで落とした枝は、どれも枝の一部が折れていたりします。不完全ながら枝ぶりの良いものや、美しい樹皮をもつ小枝。折れた部分の様子が、風にあがなったような力強さを持っていたりもします。夏の雨と冬の雨の音が異なるように、季節とその時の雲によって陽の光が毎朝異なるように、少しづつ違う良さ見つけては拾い集めています。

Here, I repaired the lost branches with brass branches. The curves and length of the brass branches are created by adjusting the overall center of gravity and creating an appearance. I admire Kintsugi, which creates new value by repairing broken vessels.
Small new branch that follow the rhythm of the scenery affect the overall balance of the scenery. Here, a small shining brass branch effects the entire weathering branch, and the whole is swaying in the wind. I suppose many people have had the experience of a small realization affecting the way they live their lives.

ここでは、失われた枝を真鍮の枝で繕いました。全体の重心を整え、佇まいを作り出す作業から真鍮の枝が持つ曲線や長さは生まれています。私は割れた器を繕うことで新たな価値を生み出してきた金継ぎに憧れます。
風景のリズムに則って起こるちいさな芽吹きは、風景のバランス全体に影響を及ぼします。ここでは輝く真鍮の枝が風化していく枝の全体に影響を及ぼし、風にそよぐ姿が生まれています。小さな気づきが暮らし方に影響を与えるような経験は、多くの人が持っている体験のようにも思っています。

If we can create new value by reconsidering the balance, I think that would be a hope. I feel that rethinking the balance between cities, regions, economy, and the environment will also create new value.

バランスを考え直すことで新たな価値が生み出せるとしたら、それは希望のように思っています。都市や地域、経済と環境のバランスを考え直すこともまた、きっと新たな価値を生み出すと信じています。
