Bird flies in the wind and spread the seeds 小鳥は風に舞い種を撒く - - - Tsugumi (鶫) are migratory birds that visit in winter. They perch on pine twigs and sing, occasionally coming down to the ground to feed. I look forward to seeing the winter scenery that I see every year again next year. The pine twigs were given to me by a gardener who was in charge of pruning the shrine. Peeling the bark off pine trees is one of the techniques used in gardening and bonsai. The beautiful skin of the pine tree was revealed to match the color of the Tsugumi’s feathers, and the hidden flowing branches were revealed through pruning. I added a stainless steel rod to give some functionality to the beautiful twigs. Trees grown over several decades are milled into lumber in this city. And the saplings are grown on the outskirts of the nearest city. There is a cycle within a very small area, where a sapling sprouts in the city, grows large on the mountain that can be seen there, and is cut down to become a wooden house in the city. They are neighbors who are familiar with calm areas and build small paths along gently sloping banks. Heron stares at the surface of the river flowing through the valley. It seems like they have a favorite spot to hunt. This shallow area where the limestone that makes up the mountain lines the riverside is one of them. The sight of them curled up with their long necks hunched over and standing on one leg in the breeze is a common sight in this area. That there is a river, there are fish to hunt, and there is shallow water to stand on. It is said that when the water rose, they would build rafts from trees harvested from the mountains and float them to the city. There were several difficult spots where the raft could easily get stuck, and an agreement had been made with the village to help the raft in case it ran aground. There are still some songs from that era that are slightly mellow and carefree. Sasa(笹_approx bamboo) is resistant to such rising water. They are resistant to agitation and grow in clusters along the riverbank, making it an important habitat for small plants and animals. Pigeons, which seem carefree and knowledgeable, do not miss such places. Also, when it rains, rivers in the valley collect water from the mountains and swell, giving the Sasa the right of way. Although there are no more rafts to be seen, trucks full of lumber are still driving along the riverside road. Many lilies grow wild around my studio. As far as I can tell, there are four types of lily.
