Most plants are thicker at the base and thinner at the tip. This is due to the efficient distribution of appropriate cross-sectional areas to withstand external forces such as wind. At the same time, it means that many plants have cross-sections with similar thickness somewhere. The fact that the tip of a large tree's branches as you look up is similar in thickness to the grass roots at your feet. That seems to suggest that there are connectable parts somewhere between different things.

Some fallen branches, even if imperfect, have inherent goodness. At times like these, I repair lost branches with brass branches. The curves and length of the brass branches are created by adjusting the overall center of gravity and creating an appearance. I admire Kintsugi, which creates new value by repairing broken vessels.

When growing branches in a dense space, it is not always possible for the branches to grow in the desired direction. Also, branches often become deformed due to dryness. The branches are spread out with rods to shape them, and the shape is stabilized by creating trusses. This is one way to beautifully utilize the uniqueness of finite materials.

The branches grow while twisting due to the wind and weight. By giving it a hinge and twisting it, I create a new center of gravity and posture. I feel that aiming for a new balance means observing and understanding the current situation, and working effectively with it. A lot of time is spent learning about the current situation.
