Doudan azalea blooms cute white flowers in spring and grows small green leaves in summer. In autumn, the leaves turn red, and in winter, red winter buds appear on the tips of the branches. The branches grow in a repeating rhythm, and the flowers attract bees, and the fruit that grows later attracts wild birds. Some birds eat the whole flower, but everyone has their own preferences.
Our ancestors learned that this tree is resistant to pruning, and it is now planted in private homes, parks, and streets. This tree is used by bees and birds, and the pruned branches and branches broken in the snow are used by me.

ドウダンツツジは春にかわいい白い花を咲かせ、夏には小さな緑の葉を茂らせます。秋になると葉は紅葉し、冬になると枝先に赤い冬芽をつけます。繰り返すリズムの中で枝を伸ばし、花には蜂が集まり、その後にできる実には野鳥も訪れます。花ごと食べる鳥もいますが、好みはそれぞれということで。
この木が剪定に強いことを知った先人によって、民家や公園、街路にも植栽されています。この木は蜂や鳥に利用されており、剪定された枝や雪に折れた枝は私に利用されています。

ここでは３本のピンを加え、枝とともに3つの三角形を作り出しています。細い枝ほど乾燥すると向きを変えますが、ピンによって光を求めて枝が開いていた状態に近づけています。広げられた枝は戻ろうとする力でピンに圧縮力を与えてピンを固定し、枝とピンはトラス形状となって強度を増しています。

１つの方法で１つの目標を達成することは明快ですが、風景が持っているリズムとバランスは多層的です。おおよそ一定なリズムの中で風景の要素は次々に姿を変え、それに応じた異なる利用者が変わるがわる現れてきます。調和という状態は、利用し合う関係が含まれているのかもしれないなと思っています。より少ない方法で、複数の目標を達成していく仕組みが風景の中に設計されているように感じています。
