The mountains collect rain in the valleys, and when the trees drop their twigs, the river slowly returns them to the soil. A heron stands leisurely beside a pebble that the water has patiently polished, watching the riverbed reflect the light in small increments. It notices my gaze and flies away. Today, as the sun rises and warms the mountain slope, a small breeze begins to flow in the river in the valley.

山は谷に雨を集めて、木が小枝を落とすと川は小枝をゆっくりと還していきます。水が気長に磨いた小石の脇にはゆったりと青鷺が立ち、細かく光を返す川瀬の様子を伺って。私の視線に気づいて飛び立ちます。今日も太陽が昇り山の斜面を暖めると、谷の川に小さな風が流れ始めます。
