The branch of tree Akashide grew in an undulating manner and was getting hard.
The branch still showed signs of continuing to grow after its tips had been broken off by the wind many times. This branch appears to have been subjected to a great deal of force, as it has a powerful break. The large tree Akashide that lost this branch now has numerous new winter buds, and in the spring countless leaves will appear. The branches will grow again in summer. Excellent, Splendid, Admirable.

うねるように育ち、固く締まったアカシデの枝。
枝は幾度も風に先端を折られた後も育ってきた痕跡を持っていました。この枝には大きな力が加わったと見え、力強い折れ口をしています。この枝を落とした大きなアカシデの木は数多の新しい冬芽を持ち、春には無数の葉が出てきます。また夏には枝を伸ばすことでしょう。
見事なことだと思います。

I cut a branch that had grown twisted in the wind, in order to manipulate the center of gravity by twisting it. I stretched some of the missing branches with brass rods, bending them dramatically and giving the branch an undulating stance. I am expanding the individuality of the branches that were growing twisted.

私は風に捻れて育った枝を切りました。ひねることで重心を操作するためです。失われていた枝の一部を真鍮のロッドで伸ばし、大きく曲げ、この枝にうねる姿勢を与えました。捻れて育っていた枝の個性を拡張しています。

The trunk may have been disappointed when its branch was broken, but I believe the branch served its purpose. And I was happy to have found the fallen branch. I feel that this is one of the a chain of balance.

枝を折られた幹は残念だったかもしれないけれど、枝は役目を果たしたと思います。
そして落ちてきたこの素敵な枝を見つけた私は幸せです。連鎖するバランスというのは、そういうものなのかもしれないなと思ったりしています。
