As the Keyaki trees turn red and lose their leaves, their branches become more distinct as winter approaches. The twigs, wet with the quiet autumn rain, show spider's threads swaying as they catch the raindrops.

紅葉と落葉を進める欅は、冬になるほどにその細かな枝ぶりを鮮明にしていきます。晴れ渡らない空の下で、秋雨に濡れた小枝が見せたのは雨粒を捉えて揺れる蜘蛛の糸でした。

It was the autumn rain that allowed me to encounter the shining, swaying branches of the Zelkova tree. It was also the autumn rain that interrupted and postponed the sports day that my son and daughter had been looking forward to, and forced me, unable to concentrate, to head to the studio.

ひかりながら揺れる欅の小枝に出会えたのは秋雨のせい。息子と娘が楽しみにしていた運動会を中断させて延期させ、まるで集中していない私をスタジオに向かわせたのも秋雨のせい。

Taking the rhythm as a clue, I think that if it had been a summer evening shower when the leaves were lush, this twig would not have been visible. I cannot decide whether this autumn rain is good or bad, so I would like to leave it at that.

リズムを手がかりにすると、葉の茂る夏の夕立ならこの小枝の姿は見えなかったのだろうと思います。集中していたら目に止まる事もなかったはず。良いとも悪いとも決めかねるこの秋雨を、どちらとも決めないでおく事にしたいと思います。
