As I gradually remove the thick bark of the pine branch, I can see traces of pruning or twigs that have been broken by the wind. I imagine that the tree has grown at its own rhythm, covering the wounds with pine resin and bark.

少しずつ松の厚い樹皮を取り除いていくと、剪定されたり風に折れたのであろう跡が見えてきます。松脂と樹皮を傷に被せながら、松なりのリズムで伸びてきたのだろうと思います。

He's a man of few words and doesn't say much, but it seems there were circumstances at the time. It wasn't like he grew straight up, nor did he easily spread out to the sides.

彼は詳しくは話さないけれど、時々の事情があったようで。真っ直ぐ上に伸びた訳でも、すんなり横へ広がれた訳でもなかったようです。

The twigs that are already gone must have had their moments of falling, but I never witnessed them. However, I feel that the accumulation of those facts has created the stunning figure.

既に失われている小枝にも落ちる瞬間があったはずですが、私がそれを見る事はありません。でも、その積み重ねがこの枝を見事な姿にしたのだろうなと感じます。

I hope that rhythm and balance will lead to harmony.
