The mountain wisteria has begun to bloom along the river in our valley. As the cherry blossoms fall, the mountain wisteria blooms, creating a repeating rhythm in our scenery. The wisteria vines are twining around the cypress branches, and the cypress trees are growing taller, not to be outdone. It's a lively spring.

今年も谷の川沿いで山藤の花が咲き始めました。桜が散ると山藤が咲いて、風景の中で繰り返されるリズムです。檜の枝に藤の蔓が巻きついて、檜も負けじと伸びていて。賑やかな春です。

Wisteria is a nuisance for those who work in the mountains, as it can break branches and constrict the trunk. I, on the other hand, casually say that its flowers are beautiful, and people living in forestry settlements find enjoyment in planting them in their gardens.

枝を折ったり幹を締め付けたり、山仕事をする人にとってはやっかいな山藤。私はその花を呑気に綺麗だと言い、林業地の集落に暮らす人は庭に植えて楽しみを見出しています。

I mended the broken cypress branch with a brass branch and added some wisteria vines to balance it. I feel like it's part of the balance of this region's scenery, where life continues intertwined in various ways.

私は折れていた檜の枝を真鍮の枝で繕い、山藤の蔓を添えて重心を整えました。絡み合いながら暮らしが続いている、この地域の風景が持つバランスの一部のように感じています。
