This is a piece of driftwood that was resting, sitting on a pebble in the shallow waters of the valley.

谷の浅瀬で小石に腰掛け、ひと休みしていた流木です。

My studio is located in a small valley. There is a forestry industry in the surrounding area. The river in the valley is a passageway for water and wind. The wind gently shakes the branches growing on both banks, causing the twigs to fall, and the ever-flowing water floats the fallen twigs and carries them away, slowly decomposing them.

私のスタジオは林業地にある谷あいの集落にあります。谷の川は水と風の通り道。風は両岸に育つ木々の枝をたゆやかに揺らして小枝を落とし、いつも流れている水は落ちてきた小枝を浮かせて運び、ゆっくりと分解していきます。

I don't know the whole thing, but I feel that the balance of the scenery in this area is created through the overlapping of large rhythms and small rhythms, mediated by water and wind.

大きなリズムと小さなリズムが重なり合って、水と風とを介しながら、この地域にある風景のバランスができているように感じています。

I wonder how many complex chains are behind this simple balance.
I hope that rhythm and balance will lead to harmony.
