However, if we view things from such a broad perspective, summer starts to fade away. Four kinds of lilies bloom one after another in the field, and that's the sequence of summer turning into autumn.

春が来て夏になって、次は秋。
などとざっくりしていると夏がくすんできます。野に４種の百合が次々と咲き連なって、夏は秋になるようなのです。

Once again this year, various lily flowers bloomed one after another, starting in early summer. I trace the sequence of their blooming—from early to late summer—recalling just where they appear each year.

今年も初夏から順を追って、様々な百合の花が次々と開きました。毎年この辺りに咲くのだよなと、初夏から晩夏へと続いて咲く百合の順番を追います。

Once the seasons have run their full cycle, they entrust countless seeds to the wind, leaving behind nothing but a single, spent flower stalk. I admire their design, which allows them to discard spent flowers every year without any penalties.

季節が一回巡ると、彼らは数えきれないほどの種を風に預け、一本の花殻を私に残します。なんの咎めもなく、花殻を毎年使い捨てる彼らのデザインに私は憧れます。
