Lily swaying in the wind *Tall : Rotate_individual

Many lilies grow wild around my studio. As far as I can tell, there are four types of lily. Towards the end of summer, the flowers bloom one after another, becoming an element of the scenery that heralds the change of seasons. Lilies have bulbs that store nutrients and have a cyclical rhythm that grows and blooms every year.

私のスタジオ界隈には多くの百合が自生しています。私が判別できる範囲でも４種類の百合があります。夏も終わりになる頃になると順々に花を咲かせ、季節の変わり目を告げる風景の要素となっています。

The bulbs, which grow over several years, are food for humans and wild animals such as wild boars. I had no idea that there was a connection between wild boars, which leave evidence of playing in the mud at waterholes in the mountains, and lilies, which bloom large flowers. I believe that even though things may seem unrelated, they are related to the elements of the scenery.

百合は栄養を蓄えた球根を持ち、毎年伸びては花を咲かせて枯れていく循環的なリズムを持っています。数年単位で成長する百合の球根は人間の食料でもあり、猪などの野生動物の食料でもあります。山中の水場に泥遊びをした形跡を残す猪と、大きな花を咲かせる百合に接点があったとは思いもしませんでした。無関係と思えることでも、関連を持っているのが風景の要素なのだと思っています。

There is limestone in the river that runs behind the studio. The remains of a small quarry in the basin are remnants of an old industry. Upstream, the large Mt. Buko is still in operation. I think that the old and new things are mixed little by little and are connected to the current scenery. Increase the resolution of the scenery. Also look at the history of the area. When I get closer and pick it up, I feel like I can see the rich materials of the mountainous area.

スタジオの裏を流れる川には石灰岩があります。流域の小規模な採石場跡は昔の産業の名残り。上流には大きな武甲山が今も稼働しています。古くからのものと、新しいものと、少しづつ混ざり合いながら今の風景に繋がっているのだと思います。風景の解像度を高くし、地域の歴史にも目を向けながら近付いて手に取ってみると、中山間地の豊かな素材が見えてくる気がしています。
