Rivers flow through mountain valleys, carrying broken branches and polishing pebbles.
A heron descends from the tree crown into the valley and stands in the shallow, looking out over the river. As the sun rises and warms the mountain slopes, winds begin to blow in the valley.This is a winter morning scenery in my area.

山の谷を川は流れ、水は折れた枝を運んで小石を磨きます。
青鷺は樹冠から谷に降り、瀬に佇んで川面を見渡します。
陽が昇り山の斜面が温まると、谷には風が吹き始めます。
私のいる地域が持っている冬の朝の風景です。

I sometimes think that this scenery that I see with a repeating rhythm is called the cycle of life. I have a hunch that there is a sustainable circulation of materials based on the way the materials come out.

繰り返しのリズムで見ているこの風景のことを、サイクルオブライフというのかなと思ったりしています。そこから出てくる素材のありように、持続的な素材の循環があるのかなと勘ぐったりしています。

Two rods have been added here. One gives the power to dance to a feather dropped by a heron. The other one, bent at an obtuse angle, connects a stone and a twig and turns it into a perch. The branches are pushed apart by the rod to create a vertical, and the reaction force firmly fixes the rod and precisely determines the angle at which it contacts the stone. Getting more with less is similar to how nature works.

ここでは２本のロッドが加えられています。１本は鷺が落とした羽根に舞う力を与えています。鈍角に折り曲げたもう１本は、石と小枝を繋ぎ止まり木に変えています。枝はロッドによって押し広げられて垂直な部分を作り出し、その反力はロッドを強く固定して石と接する角度を厳密に定めています。より少ない操作で少しでも多くの効果を得ようとすることは、風景がもつ関係性と似ていると思っています。
