Trees have their twigs broken by the seasonal winds and snow, and birds shed their feathers as they molt. Insects live in the environment created by the trees that grow in the mountains, and wild birds live by eating the fruits of the trees and the insects that gather there. Trees with healthy roots support mountains and keep rivers flowing through valleys.
Regardless of the species, the wind blows across, carrying rain clouds and watering the mountains. The water that collects in the valley polishes the mountain fragments little by little, creating rounded pebbles.

木々は季節の風や雪で小枝を折られ、鳥は換羽によって羽根を落とします。
その山に育つ木々が作りだす環境には虫が暮らし、木々の実やそこに集まる昆虫を食べて野鳥は暮らしています。健全に根を張る木々は山を支え、谷を流れる川の流れを保っています。
種に関わらず風は吹き渡り、雨雲を運んで山に水を与えます。谷に集まった水は山のかけらを少しづつ磨き、角の取れた小石を作り出しています。

I feel that our scenery exist in a balance where the unique rhythms of each piece overlap and influence each other. By paying attention to the inherent rhythms and assuming that a balance exists, I may be able to change my behavior depending on the season and harvest material again next year.

それぞれが持つ固有のリズムが重複しながら、相互に影響し合っているバランスの中に風景はあるだと思っています。固有のリズムに留意し、バランスが存在していることを前提とすれば、私は季節によって行動を変え、来年もまた素材を採取することができるかもしれません。

This feeling may have started when humans were gathering nuts in forest. The long history of using rice farming as a central indicator of wealth also seems to be a contributing factor. In this local area, I feel that forestry, which deals with long-term rhythms, is also part of that feeling. I can't write it down yet, but I would like to continue creating, researching, and thinking about it.

この感覚には、木の実の採取に始まり、稲作を富の中心的な指標としてきた長い歴史があるように思えてきます。この土地においては、長い年月のリズムを扱う林業もまたその感覚の一部なのだろうと感じています。まだ文章に書き起こせませんが、作りながら調べごとを進めていきたいと思っています。

Here, by adding hinges to some of the branches and rotating them, we create the angle of the pedestal and the clearance for the rotating leaves. Getting more with less is similar to how nature works.

ここでは枝の一部にヒンジを加えて回転させ、台座部分の角度を作り出し、回転する葉のクリアランスを確保しています。より少ない操作で少しでも多くの効果を得ようとすることは、風景がもつ関係性と似ていると思っています。
